Are java.lang classes better served by the JVM?

I understand your bad luck in micro benchmarking a method that happens to 
be intrinsic.

I was just sharing my experience in creating a non Java recognized 'boxed' 
primitive and that it did not
on the whole suffer the extreme degradation you see.

As you said 'micro benchmarks are bad'
