If you do assembler, then I think that kind of discussion is like the 
one between emacs and vi people. They have all their pros and cons. IN 
Java we have no assembly code directly for the CPU controlled by the 
user though... so maybe that would be indeed better... But I must say, 
it would change many many programs I wrote
