Question about Nashorn debugging hooks

Hello,

Based on the original goals and non-goals as described here (
http://openjdk.java.net/jeps/174) I gather that Nashorn was not designed to
include direct debugging support. I am wondering whether in the time that
has passed since then there have been any developments in this direction.
Info on this is scanty.
