It is concerning that the origination that designed one of the largest specifications in history - J2EE - doesn’t understand the value in having a specification for an http server. It is basically all there already - just with a few warts. The fact that it is trying to be descoped via documentation changes makes me suspect that the reasoning is not engineering based at all.
