I'm not sure about this yet as the real issue here is that we've got 
code for more than one platform in the directory tree. I've started a 
thread on build-dev on this topic [1], and with the build infra project 
[2] then it may be better we held back changes to the build until that 
it further along and (hopefully) in jdk8.
