Thanks for taking the time to work on it, trying it out on different 
MacOSX releases, etc. From the thread the it sounds like there is 
lurking issue here so we'll need to keep an eye our for any other 
sightings. Also there are other potential improvements that have been 
mentioned here, they can be follow-up change-sets if needed.

One other thing, the above repository is jdk8 and I think it's best to 
let it bake there for a bit before proposing it for jdk7u. 7u8 is open 
for changes at this time and is probably the more suitable release to 
target.
