RT-24088 (accepting patches from the community)

Hi,

I just saw that the above ticket now has no assignee anymore. I'm not
sure what this means but I have the feeling that it does not mean
something good for my hope to get this API into jfx8.

I'm not sure what to do. I filed the bug provided a use case and a patch
still it looks like I'm not getting something as essential and trivial in.

I'm eager to help fixing problems and makeing the controls API more
feature rich so that I can compete with Swing/SWT and get a real
replacement but if my contributions with patches are ignored in such a
simple use case I won't in invest the time providing patches for more
complex things.

I know most people here don't like SWT but the API they have in the
widgets is what is a common denominator for all operating systems and so
JFX-Controls should at least have API that is available from SWT-Widgets.
