not sure if RT-24632 really is the same thing. At least I am not seeing 
an NPE - the root cause can be identical, of course. Anyway, 
unfortunately I cannot spare time to test this with 8. I guess this 
would take at least a few hours (maybe longer) to setup and regardless 
of the outcome I still need to find a workaround for 2.2 or have to 
"won't fix" it...

Thanks for the reply though, maybe I get back to this when we actually 
arrive at 8 which is a year or two away...
