It sounds like a pretty low level problem in the calculation of the underlying metrics for the font measurements.
I doubt you could work around it at the application level in Aloha and believe you probably need to wait for a fix in JavaFX.
You could try the latest jdk8 build and see if the issue persists there (likely it does as the underlying jiras have not been closed).

It soudns as they are. Given that hopefully somebody is working on that, do you think is it possible to apply some temporary workaround in Aloha?  
Or I only have to wait for a fix in JavaFX?
