Mixing 2D and 3D

 Richard,

with all due respect, this is well known for a long time:

"Fundamentally, 2D and 3D rendering are completely different."

So, it isn't really suprising that issues concerning anti-aliasing and
transparency occur with the current approach providing 3D rendering
 capabilities in JavaFX.

You are talking a lot about implementation details. But, what I really
miss is a commitment to precisely specified MISSION and OBJECTIVES
concerning 3D support in the JavaFX API.

I have no idea which goals and requirements I should consider when
contributing concepts or code. So, I can't reply to any of your
 proposals.

 All published planned 3D features
 (https://wiki.openjdk.java.net/display/OpenJFX/3D+Features) and all
released 3D classes so far are more or less isolated items but not parts
 of the big picture.

Please, spend the same amount of time to communicate the principle
goals of 3D rendering in JavaFX.

 Sincerely,

 August
