TextFlow improvements

Dear All,

I am investigating various RichText libraries and I am pleased that one
(TextFlow) is already shipped with JDK. However, from the comparison on this
page I am rather discouraged to use it:

There are two problems:
(1) performance (TextLayout had to be recalculated on each keystroke [1][2])
(2) absence of selecting & copying text

Are there planned any improvements for JDK10? My documents will be rather
huge but I can live with limited performance temporarily.
