After giving it some thought, I agree with @hjohn that a single pass algorithm is possible if we do *everything* in snapped coordinates, and accept the fact that min/max constraints might get violated.

Do we want to continue with this PR, or switch to https://github.com/openjdk/jfx/pull/1111 ?
