upwards, however they often need to combine their
very-old-and-unsupported-for-years legacy stuff with some other
lets-use-the-latest-and-greatest application that their devs just came
up with.
I think the question is whether there is - or you would want to
implement - a clear policy defining the minimum requirements for
JavaFX version <x>. E.g. for Linux: Official distributions going back
<n> years from a Java/JavaFX LTS release. With that in place it is
relatively easy to answer these kinds of questions. It's also easier
for developers to anticipate what's likely to get dropped from JavaFX
and when.
That said, I think we could use such a policy ourselves... ;-)
