Issue Building JavaFX Project with Maven Dependency

I'm really curious about how this is supposed to work without the Maven
Build.

Nowadays, most projects use maven artifacts for their build - instead of
copying jars. How do you test your own build - without publishing maven
artifacts?
The jars created in the distributions folder are useful - but using them
requires a lot of manual work for 90% of the projects.

I'm volunteering to maintain the Maven Build - because testing builds
otherwise is complicated - and I basically fix the maven build for every
fork/bugfix/PR anyways.
