The main design goal is to provide a control that is complete enough to be useful out-of-the box, as well as open to extension by the application developers.

We are, therefore, introducing this in an incubating module, **jfx.incubator.richtext**. This will allow us to evolve the API in future releases without the strict compatibility constraints that other JavaFX modules have.

I'll regenerate the API spec shortly.
What would you suggest for the names? `addWithXXX`?

I've decided to use three different names because the old scheme was a trap in which I fell myself - by supplying the external style names varargs and forgetting that the second argument is an inline style:

`m.addSegment("some text ", "style1", "style2", "style3");`

where it should have been

`m.addSegment("some text ", null, "style1", "style2", "style3");`

With the new naming scheme, its clearer (I hope):

`m.withStyles("some text ", "style1", "style2", "style3");`
