I made the non-convergence logic way too complicated.  Basically where in the old code (before I did this logic) there was a `break` there is now a throw exception... an incorrectly written test caused me to write it way more complicated than it needed to be.  The simple rule now for non-convergence is that if any loop is aborted because the value changed back to its original, that automatically means it is non-convergent.
