Thanks, looks ok to me, but it would be useful if Vladimir can review too as he has more expertise than I in HotSpot code. I will give this a test drive with the AddTest example (my Mac might be too old, we shall see)

IIUC this currently just targets a subset of the operations for Float256Vector.

Given you have to switch the intrinsic checking off it suggests at some point we should perhaps move the code to java.base (or an experimental module) and mark the methods with the appropriate annotation.
