Howdy,
I implemented an initial port of Java 6 to FreeBSD/Sparc over the
weekend, and wrote up my process here:
http://landonf.bikemonkey.org/code/java/Porting_To_FreeBSD_Sparc.20080204.html
I'm also happy to answer any questions, and hopefully this can be of
some assistance -- I expect Linux/Sparc to be similar in scope.
With any luck we'll get permission to merge the BSD code into OpenJDK.
Unfortunately, the code is JRL licensed, and can't be directly
incorporated into any OpenJDK work.
Cheers,
Landon
