The JVM will have some basic operations, like declare variables, methods, objects (without network, databases and gui), only basic functionally. I've downloaded the bundle openjdk6 and segregate the source code of JDK/share to study. So, this is only project (jdk/share) that i need to build port to specific plataform ? I finally started the port of OpenJDK on QNX I wanted to do since so long. For now the task is to build an x86 distribution, hopefully with hotspot, maybe with cacao and it will use Caciocavallo for the graphics code. Is a bit challenging as there's not Java suitable to bootstrap the build process, so I will need to patch the code to support cross compiling. It will be fun, indeed :) I have two questions: 1. Is there anyone interested in this as well? 2. Would the porter group be willing to support this project under the porter umbrella? I'm already in the porter group because of Cacio (unless I missed something and was kicked out of it ;), but I have no clue if this is enough or require a new vote or else. Any comments? I translate briefly for the list: He asked if somebody is doing a port for Windows Mobile. To answer your question, there are probably some commercial entities that offer this in one way or the other, but as far as I know, nobody is doing a free port of OpenJDK. I pass on for a real answer to the others though, as I don't follow windows development and maybe I'm wrong.
