Hi Goetz,

Thanks for the head's up. If we aren't able to fix the issue with xlclang in a way that is approved by the community, then the project will not be build-able unless we bump the compiler version to 17. That seems quite strict for jdk11.

However, Matthias has a work around that seems to work well in my testing, so the risk is mitigated somewhat. It's just a matter of figuring out why it works, and carrying the patch through to subsequent HB version upgrades.
