With Phil's advice, I've splitted the original patch into two parts
and created another bug for TL repository, bug 7153343.<br>

The change to sun.nio.fs.GnomeFileTypeDetector looks okay to me
although you'll need to re-base your patch to jdk8/tl because of
the Mac port.<br>
