Thanks.  I will go ahead with this change (the man page update for a change that has happened).

I can't state a removal schedule.  However with no guarantee at all, I think it is safe to expect this is unlikely to happen in the immediate next release.

We will be looking into alternatives.
Shell access to the node is the main alternative right now.
