<Swing Dev> Background/Foreground colors and Gtk Look and Feel

I mean the UIDefaults table, which is populated by Swing Look and Feels.

In any case, if a native look and feel ignores setBackground then
knowing the correct color still won't help. The question is whether
components under native look and feels are required to honor fore/back
colors. I'm curious what native GTK apps do.
