I didn't understand this reading your discussion about "fail forward".
If so, could you please explain it in the
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8156121
and close it as "Won't fix"?
This peculiar scenario perhaps should not be described
in a specification but in case there will be questions, there
would be the answer.
