sync up with JDK 9

Hi,
I've just finished syncing Valhalla to the latest JDK 9 build (b109). 
I've run tests and they look all green - but please let me know if you 
find anomalies.

Also, as a result of the merge, the VarHandle support is now obsolete 
and no longer works. We plan to backout the initial VarHandle prototype 
from the Valhalla repo, as a much better (and up to date) implementation 
is available already in the sandbox repository [1].
