Accessing webcams with JMF

Hello,
I have a Webcam that has the ability to capture an image with high resolution Width (pixels):  1920  X  Height (pixels):  1080. But unfortunately,  Java Media Framework API (JMF) can't detect/view resolution more than Width (pixels):  640 X Height (pixels):  480. Is there a way to capture the image with complete solution (whatever the webcam can produce)? I don't want to use JavaCV.
