That is like saying that well, there is already so much litter here that dropping a bit more won't make that big a difference ;-)

Anyways, what people using *nix tend to drop a timestamp in using something like -Xloggc:gc`date`.log At least this would be cross platform solution.

More over it won't break anything that is already there.. or will it? If someone puts %p in a file name they are now going to see a pid.
