It fails to find any window having XdndAware property(except for apps running on XWayland). Looks like that when it works(e.g. on Ubuntu 21.04 or Oracle Linux 8u5) Wayland display server communicates with XWayland, which provides a fake XdndAware window to emulate XDND drop target.
