security-dev -- Technical discussion about the development of the Java security components

About security-dev
English (USA)

The Security group is comprised of developers interested in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the various Java Standard Edition (Java SE) security components, such as:

class loading
permissions and access control
authentication/authorization (Java Authentication and Authorization Service [JAAS])
public key infrastructure (PKI)
cryptography (Java Cryptography Architecture [JCA]/ Java Cryptography Extension [JCE])
secure networking (Java Secure Socket Extension [JSSE], Java Generic Security Service [JGSS]/Kerberos, Simple Authentication and Security Layer [SASL])

We generally do not handle security development in other functional areas such as RMI and deployment (plugin, webstart). Questions about these functional areas are better addressed by their respective groups.
