Hi Joe
Thanks for your reply. I was aware of the JBS' public availability, but
mistakenly interpreted "externalization" to mean "self-service account
creation". So what I meant to ask if/when there are plans to support
self-service account creation. However, upon reading the overview
document, I actually no longer feel it's a necessity and agree that the
bugs.java.com website is still a reasonable way to submit bugs.
With what I know now, the main problem is that I was using the search on
bugs.java.com in attempts to find out the status of my reports. The
search on bugs.java.com never found any of my bug reports. However, I
just tried the JBS search & it does find them. Moreover, the additional
functionality of the JIRA search (user-friendly filters & the JQL + RSS
feed views) seems to allow me to do everything I wanted: tracking the
conversion of bug reports to JDK- issues (by filtering on the "webbug"
label) and watching bugs (by filtering on the bug id + updated date).
Thanks again, Anthony
