A popular way to contribute to many open source projects is to 'package' 
them for consumption in various venues according to different conventions.

While Oracle doesn't publish binary builds (or push them to Maven, or 
what have you), if someone else needs such artifacts, they could arrange 
to publish them. In the ideal case, they'd even attempt to coordinate 
with the upstream project. ;)
