My concern is that we have some fixed dates for the contest
and that if we vote to have judges vote on the contest it
will risk taking too long.
However, in the event that my guess is incorrect, it would
be worthwhile to take an informal poll. If any of you
(non-Sun) OpenJDK developers would consider judging the
Awards contest please let me know. Based on the number of
responses in the next couple of days we should have a sense
of how many external judge candidates there are.
