New Member with a Problem

I just subscribed to this list in the hope that someone may provide me 
with an answer to a problem. I installed openjdk from source on my 
centOS wystem a while ago. For the BrailleBlaster project on which I am 
working we need bindings to several C libraries. I have used JNI to make 
bindings to the liblouisutdml library. The C part of the bindings is 
compiled into the library for convenience. When I test the bindings with 
a simple program that just creates a new instance of their class, I get 
an unstaisfiedLink exception with the message "no liblouisutdml in 
java.librarry.path". I have tried everything in the JNI reference 
manual, but nothing works. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
