This is not a question about Git, it a question about GitHub.

And to be honest, if you (or anyone) really wanted to contribute you
would have done so, so "absence of contribution" because of a certain
tool isn't present isn't much of an argument, I say that without
malice and without any arrogance, of course.

Moving OpenJDK forward isn't about gathering more contributors, is
mostly about the quality of the contributions.
