ALSA Dependency - Is it necessary?

Hi,
Is there anyway to build IcedTea without the ALSA library?  I am trying to
build IcedTea on OS X and since ALSA does not exist for OS X it is a little
hard to get past this step.  I have spent a few days trying to get ALSA to
compile on OS X, but that was futile.
