Makefile using cp -arf

Hi,
The cp command on OS X does not support -a -r would it be possible to change
the cp -arf to be cp -pRf ?  Is there an easy way to make this work with
systems that seem to have a different version of cp?

I am not sure, but I think that -pRf is the equivalent of -arf on Linux.
