-a in GNU cp is -dpPR; -d is rarely needed, and what is requested is
-pPR, -pRf should be enough in most cases where -arf is used.
(I coped with a similar migration in Gentoo's ebuilds when I've started
orking on Gentoo/FreeBSD).
