Yes, the Fedora packagers also complained in the past that this doesn't
directly help them because they cannot ship the orig tar ball as is. So
they end up sanitizing the original tar ball and then removing these
cleanup patches also (because they don't apply anymore of course).

I think the idea of having the sanitize script/patches as a separate
script/make target in icedtea makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't like
checking in the whole sanitized tar ball, but we can certainly generate
it once and make it available from icedtea.classpath.org whenever a new
openjdk6 bxx drop is made and integrated.
