Kees hasn't posted a response yet.
I did however, find a very similar patch posted by Diego "Flameeyes"
Petten for an older hotspot:

Diego is on the list at http://sca.java.net/CA_signatories.htm#p.
Perhaps if I start from Diego's patch and update it to work with newer
hotspot, upstream might accept it.
