For me, firefox is saving temps to :  /tmp/mozilla_jvanek0. So yes, it have
root in  $TEMP, but then continuous with the namespace.... HAdent this changed
several times recently?

Anyway...

You seems to be right. Itw should handle the case when the tmp file is being
desktop-shortucted.
