Status of IcedTea-Web + Java 11

I am trying to understand what the status is regarding IcedTea-Web with Java 11.

According to the mailing list archives, people have been trying out IcedTea-Web with Java 11 some time back, but encountered issues, and there is also a bug https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8204142 linked from the wiki under "EDT on JDK 11 is broken". That bug has been resolved only on Java 12 as I understand it. We are of course trying to figure out if IcedTea-Web could be a drop in replacement for WebStart as we move on from Java 8 to Java 11. 

I realize that we could try everything out for ourselves, but I still wanted to see if anyone had any recent experience with the IcedTea-Web + Java 11 combination to share. Is it working now?

If IcedTea-Web is not currently working with Java 11, are there plans to get there?
