I made tests in October... and itw 1.7 worked on linux/mac using shell
launcher. I made a ITW patch to fix the EDT issue and helped fixing the
forementioned jdk bug.
For windows, the batch launcher is still not compatible with jdk11 (missing
module args) but I hope I can fix it soon...

It is in progress, please test first your application with itw 1.7 (head)
on linux ...
ITW 1.8 will have new native (rust) launchers that should work better in
the future.
