The timing of this vote is indeed awkward as many Committers do shut 
down for this time of the year. A CFV requires the nominator to be 
responsive to questions or objections during the voting period so this 
one requires Roman to be responsive during this time too. I don't think 
CFV timing has been used as a veto justification before now. In any 
case, it means Roman needs to convince Jim to recast his vote, or else 
withdraw the nomination and start another CFV in the new year.
