It's also very easy to make a mistake and pull in a bunch of unreleased feature
updates as tip is some development point in u40.

The patches should be applied to the last feature update tree (u6) and a new
release produced, as with pretty much every other FOSS project.

We go halfway with IcedTea by having an interim release tree that has the right
tag pulled in and so the expected security release is tip.  We also apply the
security patches usually before they are pushed to 7u.
