[8u communication] Call for new maintainers

Hi Sean,
I don't want to question the nomination of Andrew^2 in any way - I
think they are a perfect fit for serving as 8u maintainers.
I'm just a little curious about the process of approving new 8u (and
JDK Updates maintainers). Is this a formal process which is documented
somewhere or just an informal one as it seems to be when looking at
this email thread? And what about the jdk11 updates? Shouldn't we also
extend the group of maintainers for 11u as well as 11.0.2 will be the
last Oracle led jdk11 update?

Does "propose to add" means that you are actually adding them and is
this sentence the "announcement" you have mentioned in your initial
email? Again, this shouldn't be understood as criticism. I just try to
understand and correctly follow the process. Without reading your last
mail in the "Call for new maintainers" thread it wasn't obvious to me
that we already have two new maintainers, but maybe I've missed
something?
Thank you and best regards,
Volker
