I've been thinking a lot about the future of 8u recently, so this announcement
is timely.

I'd like to put myself forward for such a role. I've been involved in
the OpenJDK
project since its inception, and handled the backports & releases for OpenJDK 6
and 7 while under Andrew Haley's leadership. I'm a reviewer on all JDK projects
from 6 up.
