Which "other JDKs"?

The process I use is the same I have used for over a decade and it
has worked fine for maintaining previous JDKs, as far as I'm aware.
I see no reason to start cutting corners now.

The biggest problem for me with 8u at the moment is there are too many
patches for a stable release and too few reviewers. That's why it has
taken so long to get to this.
