The deadlock must be pretty rare, right? No-one noticed it for a long
time.

However, the technique for patching "java.library.path" seems to be
quite widespread: I've seen it mentioned in several question & answer
web sites.

So, for that reason, I think it would be more useful for us to revert
8231584 now.
