Modules are about reliable configuration so phrases like "usually works" 
and "everything is fine" make really make sense. Furthermore, changing 
the module definition as you know better than the module author is a 
problem too. So I don't think the scenario make sense this issue needs 
to be turned into a request to the module author to reduce its 
dependence on other modules and/or make use of services to allow for 
optionality.
