The prefix symbol

Futher complicating the matter is the problem that some of these 
characters comprise valid identifiers.

For example, this appears to be valid Java today:

   int λ = 1;

I can't seem to get any of "��������" in my IDE so I cannot attest to 
their validity but it stands to reason that they would also qualify.
